Christopher Cromar Accompanist
Christopher Cromar was born in Scotland and studied the organ
and piano at Chetham's School of Music and the Conservatoire Supérieur de
Paris. His first organ lessons were with Christopher Stokes at Manchester
Cathedral, followed by advanced studies with Graham Barber, Nicolas
Kynaston and Kimberly Marshall in the UK and with Marie-Louise
Jaquet-Langlais and Naji Hakim in Paris.
As a recitalist, he has appeared at Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's
Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral, King's College, Cambridge, Notre Dame,
Sainte Clotilde, Saint Germain des Prés, and in Germany, Holland, Greece
and the USA. He has broadcast on BBC TV and radio, Channel 4 and performed
live on Radio France-Culture from La Trinité in Paris.
As a pianist he has performed extensively throughout Europe, made his
debut at London's Barbican Centre in March 2006 and has completed a number
of tours in Germany and the UK with the German violinist David Brodowski.
Particularly esteemed as an accompanist and continuo player, Christopher
works with many distinguished ensembles and vocal groups including the
London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Philharmonia
Voices, Belfast Philharmonic Chorus, Radio France Chorus, The Vasari
Singers and Cardiff Polyphonic Choir. He has served as Organist and
Harpsichordist-in-residence at the prestigious St. Endellion Festival in
Cornwall and has deputised for Thomas Trotter as organist at St.
Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey.
