James Turner joined Wokingham Choral Society at All Saints Church, Wokingham on Saturday 19th June 2004 when we performed Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Bob Chilcott's Jubilate and Haydn's Te Deum for Empress Marie Theresa.

James was trained at the Royal Academy and then at the Royal College of Music, London. Since graduating with a first class degree, he has gone on to perform with many leading orchestras such as the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras.

To add to his diverse repertoire, James has been heavily involved with the west end, performing in the musicals Jesus Christ Superstar, Saturday Night Fever, La Cava, Closer to Heaven and the new musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

He has also toured numerous times with the renowned UK production of Magic of the Musicals starring Marti Webb and more recently, Hollywood & Broadway with Melanie Stace and Tim Flavin.

James also enjoys creating educational workshops in schools around the country with his percussion quartet  Rhythm Attack.
