from the Reading Chronicle, March 2009
On Saturday, Wokingham Choral Society sang Bach's St. John Passion in the University Great Hall.
While the piece features many opportunities for the chorus, only a few are truly notable chorale numbers affording the audience to appreciate the full tonal qualities for which this society has an enviable local reputation.
These, too pale somewhat into insignificance compared to the significant involvement of the Evangelist who links the biblical texts together. John Bowley was an excellent choice of soloist for this role.
