Great
Choral Classics "Back on stage the Society cast off
its classical clothing to give polished performances of
songs by Jerome Kern and George Shearing, ending with
an exhilarating medley from Loewe's My Fair Lady."
Tippett and
Elgar "..... in the final bars Spooner brought out
Elgar's feelings of anger and helplessness. It was an
impressive, gripping performance. The second part of
the concert was a very powerful performance of
Tippett's A Child of our Time"
Messiah
"Whenever Handel's Messiah is performed, it is always a
great event and this evening was no exception. The
members of Wokingham Choral Society, under their
conductor, Alexander Chaplin, rose to the occasion with
some well-rehearsed and beautiful singing."
Staging concerts involves a big team effort and you
can join the team without singing in the choir. If you
enjoy our concerts, can help to support our activities,
and would like a closer relationship with WCS, we
invite you to join one of our support schemes for the
2010-11 season.
Our Friends and Patrons schemes are designed for
individuals. For more information please click on the
Friends and Patrons button below.
